Peace Fleece has long been one of our favorite yarns. A blend of Native/Non-Native American fine wool and Texas mohair, Peace Fleece is hard-wearing yet soft, the perfect sweater yarn for long Maine winters. Plus, it hardly ever pills! It is spun by Harrisville Designs in New Hampshire. Skeins can sometimes have a little vegetable matter -- which can easily be picked out -- because harsh chemicals are minimally used in its production.
GAUGE: 4 stitches per inch on US #8 (5 mm)
113 gram skein (4 oz.)/ approx 200 yds per skein
Care: Peace Fleece yarns will dramatically soften and fluff up with washing and use. We actually throw finished sweaters into a cold gentle wash cycle with very good results.

Gorgeous yarn! I have been needing good rustic yarns recently and this one fits the bill! Stunning color and amazing feel. Shipping from this shop was also fast and im completely satisfied!
A workhorse yarn.
I knit the Jasper Sweater from Making Magazine with this yarn. It produced the most snuggly cardigan. There is more in my future. Fiber of Maine was exceptionally prompt with the delivery.
Wonderful Yarn and Wonderful Service
Peace Fleece in Mourning Dove is just beautiful, soft and warm..a dream to knit. I needed another skein in a certain dye lot. I couldn’t seem to find this colour let alone the lot, anywhere! Fiber of Maine had my colour skein, and even in the right dye lot plus they sent it to me very quickly! Excellent yarn and excellent service!! Thank you so much!
One of my favorite yarns!
Beautiful product! Great store, very responsive, fast shipper!!
Great Yarn, Great Cause
Has a lot of VM, but that is part of the charm, to show that it is very close to the animal. Love the fact that they blend American wool with Indigenous wool sources too, and the history of the brand with advocating for peace through wool. Made a hat for me friend and told her all about the brand. She was thrilled!
